Himel Auto Parts is owned and operated by Mr Herman D Himel. The Hammond store's phone number is 232. Himel also has a store in Ponchatoula.

The Himel building is located at the south end of the old Baltzell Block, and housed the Baltzell, Donaldson, & Black Department Store in the early part of the nineteenth century. Its metal facade was created in Owensboro, KY. The building still carries small plates with the foundry name.
