Western Auto has been part of Hammond for many years. This building recently housed the Hammond A & P Store, which moved into its new
building early
this year. Western Auto moves into this building in April 1960, making this the largest store of its kind in the parish. The store has a sales floor 52' by 115'
and is large enough to provide an office for the manager, office for the female staff, and a large service area. It is air-conditioned throughout.
The building has a new neon sign and the interior is painted in a variety of colors.
